What We Do

The Charlotte Street Association comments on local planning applications, planning policy documents issued by Camden and Westminster Councils, licensing applications and other issues in the interest of the local community.

The Association has sought to influence planning policies adopted by our local authorities, Camden and the City of Westminster, which have a bearing on Fitzrovia and the people living and working here. We also seek to influence planning applications made by developers, where these plans adversely effect local residents.

Since it's inception, the Association has been committed to retaining the character of the locality, the diversity of scale and the mix of uses in Fitzrovia.

The Association has also been consistently involved in the representation of local people at public inquires concerning planning issues, the enforcement of planning legislation, licensing hearings and campaigning for improved local facilities.

A public meeting in 2008 on the ‘Core Strategy’ of the Camden Local Development Framework revealed 14 major potential development sites in our area and this scale of development could transform parts of Fitzrovia; so the work of the Association continues.
